The XLIV ELPIS Conference took place in Leuven, Belgium at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Faculty of Law on 10th– 12th of June, 2015.
25 participants from partner countries, including the host chairman of conference Professor Dr. Bernard Tilleman, attended the conference.
During the conference several presentations were provided, including “EFESE European format for exchange of social security education. Objectives, activities & partners interaction” by Prof. Paul Schoukens and “Competences, learning styles and environment in a Faculty of Law. Several Experiences” by Prof. Francesco Galindo.
Cooperation report revealed the challenges and problems (the inflexibility of the compulsory curriculum under the State examination system, not increased number of outgoing exchange students and integration of visiting professors in regional curricula) which mobility is facing in some of the Partner universities.
Institute of the University for Political sciences, newly founded by University of Cergy-Pontoise, was presented. It has seven courses in English as well as introduction into French law to offer. The exceptional feature of the program is that students are spending the third year abroad.
Professor Vasco Pereira da Silva, from the School of Law of the University of Lisbon, was elected for the chairman position of the ELPIS group.
